What to Know About Planning a Wedding at The Herb Lyceum
I was positively giddy inside when I first got Reena and Sam's inquiry for their wedding at The Herb Lyceum. This gorgeous greenhouse/herb farm has been on my venue wish list since I first started my floral business, and I couldn’t wait to work with them to bring their whimsical floral vision to life.
Even though The Herb Lyceum is a greenhouse/garden venue with lots of greenery surrounding it, there are still so many different ways to include florals here in a way that will impress!

Stunning Summer Wedding at The Herb Lyceum
Reena and Sam wanted their florals to be colorful, seasonal, and modern for their wedding at The Herb Lyceum. I used a lot of interesting shapes in fuchsia, burgundy, and cream to bring this design to life. I created 5 hanging floral chandeliers in the greenhouse, including a luscious one over their sweetheart table. The bright colors absolutely popped in the space! The greenhouse is a gorgeous blank slate for hanging designs (my favorite!!) and just overall a stunning backdrop for a summer wedding.
Whatever your wedding vision is, I promise we can create it together through custom florals! What’s most important to me is that we choose florals that actually reflect who you are as a couple and celebrate your love story in all its technicolor glory.
I truly wish I could have been a guest at this wedding. It was the perfect summer garden party, and the Herb Lyceum's menu is absolutely droolworthy. Also, S+R had such special touches, like custom Pokémon cards for guests to stick polaroids and write on to create a guest book. Honestly sad I didn't choose to include that at my own wedding!

It has lush gardens, a charming rustic barn, an adorable greenhouse, and incredible farm-to-table dining with fresh New England ingredients that you and your guests will love. Wedding Florals at The Herb Lyceum
One of the best things about planning your wedding at The Herb Lyceum is that it’s a blank canvas to work with and you can bring your floral vision to life. I love how much creative freedom this venue offers you and that there are so many different ways you can incorporate a variety of floral arrangements into this venue! For example, you can choose to hang flowers on arbors, tree branches, the greenhouse ceiling, and railings, or drape flowers, ivy, or moss across the dining tables.
You can also place large floral arrangements in a variety of places such as next to your ceremony chairs, at your ceremony site, or at the table where you and your partner will be sitting for your reception. If you want to bring the garden wedding theme to life, I highly recommend incorporating lots of greenery into your wedding floral arrangements - this could be something like ivy, moss, or eucalyptus.
And don’t forget the floral installations! Floral installations are stunning, large-scale works of art created with real or faux flowers. These can take many forms—flower walls, hanging displays, arches, or really anything else you can imagine. Althea Floral Design can work with you, whether you want a hanging floral installation that is a showstopping piece of floral artwork or a simpler, minimalist design. Either way, when working with me, you know your florals will impress! Want to see examples of floral installations I’ve created? Go here!
