Anne and Gwynne’s Spring Elopement in Boston
My wish is that every couple getting married embodies that absolute joy and originality as Anna and Gwynne did during their elopement this spring in Boston. Everything from their clothes to makeup to activities (getting North Shore roast beef! Riding the T! Walking in the public garden!) was just so full of love and about having the absolute best time. My friend Lensy Michelle, their photographer, followed them around, and it seriously made for the best wedding gallery.
Flower-wise, I designed bright-as-hell personals for the couple. A funky drapey pocket square for Anna (popping out from their rusty orange suit) and a giant textured bouquet for Gwynne (who really embodied the more-is-more aesthetic in the best way). To say these were some of my favorite personals to design so far this year is an understatement.
After the couple's adventure around downtown Boston, they had their ceremony in my favorite mini wedding chapel, Dearly Studio, in Somerville, MA, before dancing the night away in Bow Market.
I've lived in the Boston area for over a decade at this point and have such a love for my city, so it seriously makes me emotional when I see couples want to embrace the city in their wedding plans.

Boston Elopement Flower Inspiration + Ideas
Here are some ideas you can try for your Boston elopement! These ideas are just a starting point - you can take what you love and leave what you don’t!
Whimsical, colorful Boston elopement
For a more whimsical, colorful themed elopement, flowers you could incorporate include vibrant shades of hydrangea, garden roses, and peonies. I also love the idea of adding in any type of lavender bloom for this elopement theme because, for me, lavender evokes so much whimsy and nostalgia.
Romantic, elegant Boston elopement
For a romantic, elegant elopement, you could include burgundy winter flowers like hellebore or red roses. For this elopement theme, I also love the idea of including a cascading floral bouquet - to me, they add a touch of timelessness to your day. Other moody, darker florals you could incorporate include dark shades of ranunculus, and don’t forget to add some foliage for contrast!
Adventurous, urban-themed Boston elopement
For an adventurous, urban-themed elopement, flowers you could incorporate are any bloom that is earthy and organic. I also think for a more urban setting, eucalyptus pairs so nicely with your floral arrangements. You could also add in lily grass and ferns!
Nature lovers Boston elopement
For a nature-lovers-themed elopement, I would put focus first on greenery (ivy, ferns, vines) and then pair it with wildflowers, daisies, roses, etc.
Whatever your elopement vision is, I promise we can bring it to life with your florals! What’s most important to me is that we choose florals that actually reflect who you are as a couple and celebrate your love story in all its technicolor glory.
