How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost in Boston?

As a New England florist, I live and breathe flowers, but I completely understand that it can be hard to gauge the cost of wedding flowers and determine what you need (and what you don’t).
Keep reading to learn more about how much you’ll likely spend (on average) for your flowers for your Boston wedding.
How Much Do Wedding Flowers Cost in Boston?
While I wish I could give a straightforward answer with a set price, many factors influence what your New England wedding flowers will actually cost. Here are some questions to consider that can help you get a better idea of (on average) how much you’re likely to spend:
How many guests do you have?
This is an important question to answer because guest count directly impacts your budget! The number of tables affects the number of centerpieces, and depending on the type you choose, that can add up FAST. My couples tend to spend, on average, $75 per guest on wedding flowers (including tax and setup!).
How big is your wedding party?
Remember, a large wedding party is going to need a higher budget; if you are doing just personal flowers for you and your love can save money for other floral items. For example, an average-size bridesmaid’s bouquet is $140, so again this adds up fast.
How abundant do you want your flowers?
This truly makes a huge difference in the final investment level! A fully decked-out chuppah for a ceremony with meadows lining the aisle could run you $5,000+, vs. smaller touches on an arch are likely closer to $1k.
Do you want “in-vogue” flowers?
Just like the rest of the economy, florals are impacted by supply and demand! For the most “on-trend” flowers, like amaranthus, anthurium, orchids, and calla lilies, they are going to cost a premium. That anthurium stem, while it’s certainly a stunner, will run you $31 a STEM. No, I’m not joking. A rose is less than ¼ of that at $7 a stem. When I work with my couples who want to incorporate on-trend flowers, I balance premium, costly stems with more cost-effective flowers so we can strike a nice balance.
Do you want installations or hanging tent vines? Does your venue have tight setup timing?
These are the kinds of things that ultimately impact labor price and how many floral man-hours need to go into your wedding. Here at Althea, we expand or contract the number of team members we need depending on the needs of each wedding, and for tight setup windows, ladder work, or heavy on-site design, you’ll see that increased labor reflected in the final investment.

My full-service minimum for 2027 is $7,000. Full service means you receive a custom quote, mood board, 1:1 calls, optional site visit, delivery, setup, and breakdown. Having this minimum ensures that for the vast majority of my couples, you will have enough budget to cover unique and interesting ceremony design, personal flowers, and centerpieces, often with budget left for additional items.
Couples on average spend with me $8-15k on their wedding flowers, with an average investment of $75 per guest.
