H + R’s wedding at The Tower was my first of three weddings here this year, and now it’s truly one of my favorite New England wedding venues. The Tower feels like it's straight out of The Great Gatsby. It’s incredibly elegant paired with historic charm. The venue itself looks like a mini stone castle plopped down in the middle of downtown Boston!
Hannah and Rob told me on their design questionnaire that they wanted their wedding to feel intimate, creative, and, most of all, full of so much love. Their wedding was in late February, which is actually an absolutely lovely time for flowers.
In February in New England, we start to get spring flowers like tulips, but still have deep, gorgeous burgundy winter flowers like hellebore. I loved crafting a transitional palette for the couple, which mixed burgundy, creams, and butter yellows to capture that pre-spring feeling. The slightly moody palette also went SO well in The Tower, especially with the gorgeous dark wood bookcases in the Library.
I also got to use handmade custom ikebana dishes that were made for me by my potter friend India Cooper. Small details like this really made the whole design feel luxurious, especially within a venue that already has so much personality.

This gorgeous castle is a four-story event space that is elegant, timeless, and full of character and charm. The building also has a fascinating history, as it was constructed in the 1890s as the Armory of the First Corps of Cadets until it was transformed in the early 2000s into the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse, and it is now a premier wedding venue in Boston.
It’s the perfect venue for a large, grand celebration, as the venue has capacity to accommodate up to 300 guests, and with it being in the heart of Boston, there’s so much close by to enjoy, including iconic attractions, restaurants, and accommodations.
Each floor in The Tower has something different to offer you. Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:
1st Floor Lounge 1887
This elegant space is warm and welcoming with a gorgeous bar, original masonry walls, and a large fireplace. This space is ideal for your cocktail hour.
2nd Floor Parlor
The 2nd Floor Parlor feels like you’ve stepped into the past with eye-catching vintage chandeliers, historic windows, Gilded Age carvings, and more. It’s the perfect setting for your reception.
3rd Floor Green Room
On the 3rd floor of The Tower, you’ll find the Green Room - an intimate private space. This room can be used for an intimate ceremony or can be additional space for your guests to mingle for your reception if you do a full buyout of The Tower.
The Library
The Library has original bookcases, a catwalk, and beautiful large windows that let in plenty of natural light. It’s a dreamy space for your ceremony and reception.

How much does a wedding at The Tower cost?
The answer truly depends on what you’re planning to include in your wedding, but the starting site fee is $12,000. They have various pricing options available depending on what you’re looking for. Pricing will also be affected by whether you’re planning to get married during peak wedding season or off-peak wedding season. Peak wedding season in Boston is usually May-October. Since The Tower is an indoor wedding venue, you can get married here at any time of year, and H+R’s wedding in the winter here was absolutely magical.
What flowers look best for a wedding at The Tower?
For me, this wedding venue really embodies a fairytale aesthetic. It’s enchanting and dreamy. But with that being said, there’s no “perfect” flower that you have to have at your wedding. Ultimately, the flowers and floral installations you include should all depend on your wedding vision and reflect who you are as a couple. For a fairytale wedding aesthetic, I’d suggest florals like ivy, hydrangeas, and roses. Also, with The Tower’s dark wood and gilded touches, a moody and romantic color palette works really well here.
