Colorful Summer Wedding At deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum
I had the absolute pleasure of designing for Shoshana and Brian's wedding at deCordova last August. Working with some couples can really feel emotional, and S+B really left a mark on me! More than anything, these two wanted their wedding (and the flowers!) to feel extremely personal and reflect the merging of their families.
Shoshana is a wildflower girl, New England-raised, and wanted the feeling of a New England wildflower garden to come through in the designs. Brian, on the other hand, is a desert soul through and through (like me!) and wanted to incorporate desert touches in their floral design.
I had so much fun brainstorming ways to bring succulents and wildflowers together in a way that didn't feel forced and actually felt like bringing two parts together for a cohesive whole. This was also a couple who wasn't afraid to break tradition for their personal flowers.
For the guest tables, I created mini gardens in terracotta saucers that held both locally grown wildflowers and succulents, and the best part was that S+B chose one guest from each table to take the design home!
For Brian and their son Jonah, I created floral bowties! Brian was 100% succulents, while Jonah's had a mix of wildflowers and succulents on the tie, to highlight the merging of the families.
For Shoshana, I designed a classic wildflower bouquet, with nearly all locally grown summer flowers. My favorite design that I created for their day was floral crowns. I made them for all three of the family members, and they then wore the floral crowns during their beautiful Jewish ceremony.
Designing flowers that feel PERSONAL is one of the highlights of my work, and almost a year later, I'm still thinking how special it was to work on this wedding! Whatever your wedding vision is, I promise we can create it together through custom florals! What’s most important to me is that we choose florals that actually reflect who you are as a couple and celebrate your love story in all its technicolor glory.

If you want to include a cocktail hour, you can host it in the Linde Gallery, which has works by local artists for you and your guests to enjoy, and your reception will take place underneath a sailcloth tent. Also, just so you know, they do have a climate-controlled indoor space available that you can use in case of inclement weather.
