Connie and Jimmy’s Dreamy Summer Pastel Wedding at Misselwood
I absolutely LOVED working at Misselwood and being a part of Connie and Jimmy’s celebration here! Connie and Jimmy’s wedding was one I was so excited about from the moment I first read Connie's inquiry.
I always want to know how my couples want to *feel* wearing their personal flowers and what the overall vibe of their wedding is, so I can use flowers to be an active part of their wedding story.
In Connie’s inquiry form, she told me the vibe she was going for was melted sherbet, teenage dreams, whimsical, airy, and effervescent. I was SO excited to design a wedding that felt exactly like that.
Connie (she/her) & Jimmy (he/him) got married on June 15, 2025. From the first second I met Connie and Jimmy, I could feel how much they love and respect each other. It was imperative to them that their wedding day felt like a marriage of all their favorite things, gathered all their favorite people, and just felt like *them*.
I ran with Connie's desire for melted sherbert/teenage dreams by bringing in plenty of locally grown, colorful flowers, adding texture that gives the design a sparkle. Purple allium brought whimsy to the design, while local peonies brought a fluffiness, and I used feverfew and baby's breath for texture.
I also knew I wanted to bring in Connie and Jimmy's story into the flowers, so I also used sarracenia (pitcher plants) as a nod to Jimmy's love for Pokémon, as it's reminiscent of Victreebell!
As a nod to the rattan decor that they have in their apartment, I also included rattan mats under the guest table, design, and empty oyster shells to bring in their love of the sea.
It was an absolute joy getting to know Connie and Jimmy as a couple and helping tell their story with flowers.
